BALLET: The syllabi of the world renowned Royal Academy of Dance is followed from Pre-Primary to Advanced level. In the children’s grades, equal value is given to classical ballet, character dance, and free movement, all of which produce a versatile and knowledgeable dancer. Examinations are held annually and interested students will be entered at the discretion of the teachers. The Pre-Ballet level is for students aged 3 and 4 and is an introduction to dance technique and classroom etiquette.

JAZZ: Jazz classes develop flexibility, coordination, and proper stance with a rhythmical, creative approach to movement. Jazz expands the students’ background in music by incorporating different musical styles (pop, blues, percussive, etc.). Due to the strong technical background required, it is highly recommended that ballet be taken as well. Optional examinations follow the syllabi of Performing Arts Educators of Canada. Jazz may be started from the age of 4 years.

TAP: A combination of many different cultures, tap developed from Irish Jigs through vaudeville and musical comedy. It is a very rhythmic dance form that combines coordination, musicality, and a flair for style and musical theatre. Because of its association with Broadway musical, it is recommended that jazz should be studied in conjunction with tap to better enhance the students’ training, Students may begin at age 4 and have the option o working towards an examination following the syllabi of Performing Arts Educators of Canada.
